FRAGRANT SHOOT (Xiang Ya)
A tea not often found outside China, Fragrant Sprout is a yellow that is pan-fired preserving its loose rolled shape and enhancing its very natural sweetness. Grown in Huang Shan Mountains, Anhui Province, this is a classic tea-growing region marked by rich pine forests and cold mountain streams. Picked in early April, once withered it is gently rolled into a loose round shapes often with a stem left intact. The stem adds depth, counters the sweet notes with a hint of astringency. The leaves unfurl releasing a round fruity-sweet cup. Being a yellow tea, it will steep to a very clear, light-yellow color. $4.50 per person / $9 per pot
YELLOW FLOWER (Huo Shan Huang Ya)
Grown at an elevation of 1000 meters, this organically grown, hand–crafted yellow tea known as yellow bud or yellow flower, its shapely green leaves are carefully crafted to bring out its deep floral character. It is refreshing, naturally sweet and clean in its taste. This is a good tea for everyday consumption. Steep in water at 175 degrees for 2 minutes. $3.50 per person / $7 per pot
