Assam, in Northern India, the land of the one-horned rhino, is a vast and beautiful area of dense forests and open rolling plains which the mighty Brahmaputr river runs, carrying rich fertile soil down from the mountains of Tibet to the agricultural plains that stretch out on either side of the river. Our Assam comes from the largest tea-growing area in the world. The infusion of this tea is a wonderful mid-amber color and the flavor is rich, sweet, malty and exquisitely smooth. The entrancing spice of this Assam is one of the best we have tasted. A classic that will delight you day after day. Big enough for your morning steep. AJIRI
Ajiri black tea is raised in Kenya by women, harvested by women and processed by women. This tea won best in its category at the World Tea Expo 2011. The money the women earn from the sale of this tea goes to care for HIV/Aids orphans. $3.50 per person / $7 per pot
