Pu-erh teas have an earthy, mature character and are said to be excellent for the digestion. They are fermented and can be aged like good wine.
CAMEL’S BREATH (Tuo Cha)
Brown nuggets of cooked Pu-erh. The earthiness of a quality Pu-erh is captured here. Each nugget is a serving and yields multiple steeps. Never bitter, only stronger as it steeps. Produced in 2009. $4.50 per person
TUO CHA WITH CHRYSANTHEMUM (Ju Hua Tuo Cha)
Small dark nuggets, approximately 3 grams, of dark leaf Pu-erh are infused with the scent of the Chrysanthemum flower. The taste of earthiness is complimented by the fresh flower scent. A traditional blend, this tea is soothing, good with meals and is also enjoyed when the weather turns very warm. It will steep multiple times. Brew in boiling water for 3-4 minutes. $4.50 per person/$9 per pot
GOLDEN TIP PU-ERH
This is a quintessential Pu-Erh with all the forest and earth notes. Golden Tip has a wonderful rich color and is quite easy to keep drinking. Multiple steeps, this tea gets better and better with each pour. Steep with boiling water about three minutes and then steep again and again to taste. $4 per person / $8 per pot
